Restorative Care

Dental Fillings
Restorative care at National Dental Williston ParkCavities form as a result of tooth decay. Tooth decay is caused by oral bacteria. These bacteria live on the food particles that linger in your mouth. As they eat, they produce acids, which attack your enamel. When you miss certain areas of your mouth while brushing, or ignore your oral hygiene routine altogether, oral bacteria can quickly build up.

Root Canal
The only way to diagnose an infection inside your tooth is with an oral exam. We begin with an inspection of the visible structures inside your mouth. We check your teeth for signs of damage (chips and cracks) and cavities. We will also look at your gums for signs of gum disease.

Dental Crowns
When the damage goes untreated, it can cause further damage to the tooth, such as splitting or shattering, or painful infections. Damaged teeth, depending upon their location, can also greatly impact your smile. At National Dental Williston Park, we provide crowns to restore the health and function of your damaged teeth.

Dental Bridges
The procedure for placing a bridge is similar to the procedure for placing crowns. It typically takes two visits. On your first visit, we prepare the abutment teeth. Under a local anesthetic, we trim or remove a portion of the enamel from each tooth, creating sufficient space so that your bridge fits in perfectly with the rest of your teeth.

Dentures - Complete & Partial
If you are missing all of the teeth in a single arch (or you are missing all of the teeth in your mouth), complete dentures, or partial dentures, may be right for you. If you have any teeth remaining, but they are unhealthy, they will need to be extracted first. Molds are taken of your mouth, which is used to design and create your custom fit dentures.

Same Day Dentures
Dentures have been in use for hundreds of years. The dentures you see today, however, are nothing like their predecessors. In fact, today’s dentures are greatly different from those dentures of just a few decades ago. Today’s dentures are made to be much more comfortable, and much more natural in appearance.

Inlays & Onlays
When you develop a cavity, a filling is usually the treatment used. That is not always the best solution, however. When you get a cavity on the chewing surface of your molar, the situation becomes a little more complicated. Fillings in this region of your tooth can compromise the tooth’s integrity. This can put your tooth at risk for further damage.

Laser Dentistry
Along with limiting bleeding, the laser helps to minimize post-procedure pain and swelling. This is possible thanks to the pinpoint accuracy provided by the laser. It can remove just a few cells at a time, limiting tissue trauma.
